Caliterra Carmenere
ORIGIN:
Appellation: Cokhagua Valley
Grape Varieties: 87.5% Carmenere,12.5%Shiraz.
WINE-MAKING:
grapes were hand-picked in bins at the beginning of may, and gently crushed and the must fermented in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation started at an average temperature of 32° and was reduce to 28° towards the end of fermentation .the maceration time of this wine was long reaching 30days. Aging in oak barrels during 10 months.
TASTING NOTES:
Having a wonderful nose with cassis and cherry marmalade interlaced with spicy notes of pepper and hues of tobacco. A beautiful intense deep red, almost black colour. On the palate, the wine is soft, lush, long and tasty.
SERVING:
At room temperature with roast or grilled meats,game, poultry,pizzas and pastas.
