BOUCHARD GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN
ORIGIN:
Appellation: Gevrey-Chambertin AOC
Geographical location: Burgundy area.
Grape Varieties: 100% Pinot Noir.
WINE-MAKING:
In wooden vats followed by maturing in barrels for 14 to 16 months ( 20% new oak)
TASTING NOTES:
A clear and brilliant cherry red color. On the nose, it is distinguished and complex, slightly woody with hints of vanilla and red and black fruits ( blackberry, raspberry and Morello cherry). Animal notes of musk and fur. On the palate, it is full-bodied with ageing potential, long and persistent. As the wine develops the presence of red fruits is confirmed with a substructure of liquorice. Gevrey wines are noted for their strong character and intense, expressive aromas-powerful but extremely mellow.
SERVING:
Serve between 15℃ and 16℃ with rich dishes such as a saddle of lamb, Burgundy cooking beef and ripe cheeses. This wine will be matured for at least 5 to 15 years.
